BRIANNE STEIF, FLUTE

Earliest Memories

I reached out to the LGSO about becoming a substitute musician when they happened to have principal flute auditions coming up. I was just looking for more opportunities to play after just graduating from graduate school. I did the audition and was accepted as the principal flute. This is my second year in the LGSO.

I was definitely nervous about attending my first rehearsal but the flutists were very welcoming. I remember my first concert because I loved the repertoire and we had a solo violinist playing with us who was amazing!

Favorite Memories

Playing the Snowman soundtrack with the movie and dancing to swing music at the annual gala.

Favorite Pieces

Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5, The Snowman, Sensemayá (Silvestre Revueltas).

People should know:

It is a great group of people with great passion for their community and classical music. The concerts are designed with the audience in mind and I think that is very special to find in classical settings.
