BETH RINDT, VIOLA/VIOLIN

Earliest Memories

I auditioned on November 17th on violin and viola for David Anderson. He welcomed me to the LGSO. Viola was what he recommended me to play in the orchestra since the section was small at the time. The next day, Friday, November 18th, I was invited to play violin for the school day concerts. The year prior to joining the LGSO, I played violin with The Beloit Janesville Symphony which I continue to perform with. It was there that I met Dawn Soeth, Roxanne Buchholz and David Murray who encouraged me to come and play in The LGSO since I lived in Genoa City, 7 minutes from Lake Geneva.

I was super impressed by David Anderson’s expertise in guiding the musicians. The members of the orchestra were kind and interested in getting to know me. Welcoming me to the LGSO. The first concerts was the School Day concerts of which was exciting and fun. Going out to lunch with everyone between help me to create more friendships.

Favorite Memories

I enjoyed performing in Whitewater on The Planets, one of my favorites. I enjoy the School day concerts. I also enjoy the gala at the Abbey.

Favorite Pieces

The Planets, Tchaikovsky’s 6th symphony, Dvorak’s 6th symphony, and I’m looking forward to Rachmaninoff and music planned for the gala.

Volunteering

It was almost a year that I volunteered to help Pam Kundert with organizing and cataloging music in the new storage unit. I also have volunteered to put bowings in the music. As of last year I was nominated to the LGSO board and have become the new gala chairman for next year’s gala on February 14, 2026.

Teaching (through LGSO’s Private Lesson Program)
I continue to teach a violin student, Kayla Cooney, who started with me in the fall of 2023. At the time, she was in Sinfonia of MYSO. She made it to the Senior Symphony as of last year. Kayla had the privilege of traveling with MYSO last summer to perform in three concerts: the first in Krakow, Poland, then in Wroclaw Poland, and a final performance in Prague, Czech Republic.

People should know:

The fact that The LGSO cares about everyone involved in the Symphony. Keeping in touch with musicians, volunteers, supporters that make the LGSO what it is today.
