Executive Director

Karen Bullock is thrilled to be joining the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra as their Executive Director.  Karen started her journey into arts management as a volunteer usher at the Grand Theater in Wausau during college.  She was already well into a music major, but the experience of volunteering in the management aspect of a theater led her to consider other options.  She completed a double major in arts management and business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.

Positions in arts management were few during her early career. After college, Karen worked in the insurance industry negotiating claims.  When her children were young, they moved to the southeastern Wisconsin area. She held a number of volunteer positions, wrote human interest articles for a local newspaper, taught piano lessons, and participated in local government.

Since 2014, Karen has worked in the education field and currently teaches music and other electives in the Genoa City Joint 2 School District (Brookwood).  She completed her Masters in Music Education in 2023.  She has a passion for making music relevant to her students’ past, present, and future.  Karen enjoys spending time with her two children, Elizabeth (24) and Zane (17), creating glass art, and gardening.
