Concertmaster

Lisa Gauslow was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, starting violin lessons at age three in Elgin’s Suzuki Program. During high school and after attending Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, Lisa studied with David Taylor, assistant principal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. At Luther College, she studied violin with Virginia Strauss, chamber music with Eric Kutz of The Murasaki Duo, and played with Luther’s orchestra under conductor Daniel Baldwin.

From 2003-05, Lisa played with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra while also performing in various musical theater productions in the greater Chicago area.

Gauslow currently serves as Concertmaster of the Lake Geneva Symphony orchestra as well as a section violinist for many various orchestras in southeast Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Her Guest Concertmaster appearances have included Symphony847 and the Kenosha Symphony.

With a passion for chamber music that began at the National High School Music Institute out of Northwestern and continued at Luther College, Gauslow also performs with friends and colleagues in smaller settings whenever the opportunity arises. In 2008, she began performing with the Monarch Rose Trio and continues to do so whenever motherhood allows.

In addition to her Concertmaster duties, Gauslow has enjoyed a number of music education pursuits: private teaching at LMG Studio, Kenosha Conservatory of Music, Schaumburg Academy of Music, chamber music at Stevenson High School, sectional coaching at Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra in Southern California, Los Osos High School in Southern California, and Kenosha Unified School District.
